FA Cup: Thanks To A Strong Second Half, Liverpool Survives

crouch.jpgAs I stated earlier, the Blue South Side Havant & Waterlooville played inspired football in the first half, probably scaring the shit out of mighty Liverpool. When the halftime whistle blew, the match was 2-2.

But Liverpool woke up in the second half and the dream ended for H&W as Liverpool would go on to win 5-2. Yossi Benayoun  tallied a hat trick and Peter Crouch put the match on ice in the 90th minute. Is it me or does Crouch score a lot of goals very late in matches? That guy is a talent and it would be nice to see him get more playing time. He has stated that he doesn’t plan on leaving Anfield but at some point pride must set in and you have to move on to a new club, especially if you deserve playing time. He’d sure look good in White and Black, just saying. (and no, I understand that will never happen, just let me dream for a moment).

Congrats to H&W. This is a Cup run that club can reflect on for years to come. How many lower division sides can say they went to Anfield and held a lead twice? Good stuff.

Elsewhere Arsenal defeated Newcastle, Middlesbrough beat Mansfield Town, Portsmouth defeated Plymouth Argyle & Preston North End stomped Derby County.

Right now Wigan is taking on Chelski. Come on Wigan!!!
